Halifax FC Women face Liverpool Feds on Sunday afternoon, in their latest fixture of the Northern Premier Division. The fixture will be the Eagles’ third league game of the season after an impressive start, earning a point against newly promoted Stourbridge and then a brilliant win against Huddersfield to place them 6th in the league with a game in hand.
Kick off at the Clayborn Leading Edge Stadium (Liversedge) is at 2pm as league action returns to the Northern Premier Division.
Halifax are heading into the game after beating Sporting Khalsa 4-2 in the FAWNL Cup in Liversedge, a game that saw plenty of action as well as late drama, with Halifax scoring two late goals to send them into the next round. Ellie White impressed, coming off the bench in the 60th minute to score twice and provide the assist to Lucy Sowerby’s goal. Ellie has been suffering from injury lately, so to see her playing again will be a huge boost to the Halifax attack.
Rob Mitchell’s side are looking to continue their unbeaten run this season, with 3 wins and 1 draw out of 4 games, keeping this form will be important, particularly in the league. A win on Sunday would be very important for Halifax in order to maintain their unbeaten run, they will want to keep pushing to get as many points as possible in the early stages of the season.
Liverpool Feds are welcomed to Liversedge on the back of a 2-1 win against a tough West Brom side. The Feds currently sit in 3rd place in the league after a brilliant start to the season. With both sides in great form, we should see a very exciting and close matchup between Halifax and Liverpool Feds!
