Mia makes the move!

Mia Jacobs has become our latest signing ahead of the new season after completing her move to the club.

The winger arrives after spending 8 years with Bradford City coming up through the ranks and enjoying a breakout season last time out scoring 18 league goals in a Bradford side that narrowly missed out on promotion.

She now makes her move to Halifax looking to test herself in Tier 3.

We spoke to Mia about her move:

First of all congratulations on the move! How does it feel to become a Halifax player?

“Thank you! It feels great to be here. Halifax is a club I’ve always respected, and when the opportunity came up, it felt like a great fit. I’m proud to join and I can’t wait to get going, meet the fans and do my bit for the team.”

You’ve left Bradford City after 8 years and on the back of a impressive goalscoring season last time out. How excited are you to test yourself in tier 3?

“It’s a new challenge, and one I’m really motivated for. Bradford was a big part of my journey, and I’m proud of what I achieved there. But now it’s about pushing myself in a new environment and proving I can step up at this level. I’m excited to see where it takes me.”

What can the fans expect from you on the pitch, tell us a bit about the type of player you are?

“I’d say I’m someone who always gives everything – I try to lead by example with my work rate. I love to be involved in attacking play, but I also pride myself on doing the basics right and helping the team in any way I can. I’m always looking to improve.”

Are you looking forward to pre-season with your new teammates and coaching staff?

“Yeah, I’m buzzing to get started. New faces, new environment – it’s always exciting. I’m looking forward to getting stuck into pre-season, getting to know the girls and building that connection with the staff too.”

Welcome to Halifax Mia and we look forward to seeing how you develop this season!

Manager Rob Mitchell is excited about Mia’s arrival to the club:

“I’m delighted to welcome Mia to Halifax! She’s a player I’ve known about for a number of years now and have followed her journey through the ranks at Bradford before ultimately making her senior debut and becoming an integral part of the team.”

“She’s an infectious person who’s always positive and enthusiastic as well as possessing an unbelievable drive, determination and work ethic. She’s still young and can become whatever she wants to be in the game, I think she’ll make a big contribution this season and I can’t wait to help her grow and develop into an even better player than she already is.”

“It’s a big step going from tier 5 to tier 3 but I already know she has what it takes to come in, work hard and fight for a shirt, she’ll be a fantastic teammate on and off the pitch and I know just how hungry she is for this opportunity which for me tells me everything I need to know about the type of player we’re getting.”

“Her teammates, our coaches and the fans will love her!”
