match preview

halifax v burnley 12/10/25

Looking ahead…

This weekend we host a strong Burnley side at Myra Shay in an anticipated FAWNL Northern Premier Division clash.

Halifax come into the fixture on the back of an important point on the road at Loughborough last weekend, currently sitting 11th in the table. Burnley are unbeaten in their opening five league games, including 5-0 victories over Middlesbrough and Loughborough and a point away from home against league leaders Wolves. Lou Roberts’ side will be looking to continue a fantastic start to their league campaign, having been productive in front of goal and kept clean sheets in all but one clash this season.

After facing Hull at home last weekend, a convincing win has left the side applying pressure at the top of the table, sitting at second place with Wolves ahead by just three points.

The Clarets have also booked their place in the next round of the FAWNL Cup after comfortably netting 13 goals past Lancashire rivals Blackburn Rovers, securing their position at the top of Group T with goals from nine different scorers. Striker Charlie Chadwick bagged a hat-trick before half time, making her Burnley’s top goal scorer in all competitions this season. They await a tie with Norton & Stockton Ancients to determine their progress beyond the last 32 of the cup.

Rob Mitchell has said that it’s important for his side to “bring the same intensity, desire and energy” that was on display at Loughborough into the game this week, with the team’s “energy and mood feeling positive”.

Come down to Myra Shay and support us as we look to climb the table.
