FAWNL Match Preview West Bromwich Albion v Halifax 30/12/25

Halifax make the trip to the Midlands this weekend where they face West Bromwich Albion in search of a vital three points.

Rob Mitchell’s side returns to FA WNL action on Sunday after a week off. With extra time to recover and prepare, the team will look to stay competitive at the bottom of the table, where just one point separates them from Loughborough Lightning and Sporting Khalsa. In recent league matches, Halifax have fallen to narrow defeats against Liverpool Feds and Middlesbrough, while league leaders Wolves also punished the side with two early goals. A bright start in the clash against Liverpool Feds was overlooked after Farah Crompton’s first-half injury proved a blow to the team, but Mitchell insists that his side “needs points on the board” and will look to carry the same energy into the meeting with West Brom.

This weekend’s opponents sit fourth in the league table, having recently beaten Sporting Khalsa and holding Middlesbrough to a draw at home. They have also enjoyed success in the Adobe Women’s FA Cup, beating Cambridge United 2-0 at home last weekend to progress in the competition, and have been drawn to face Leeds United in the third round. Phoebe Warner is the side’s leading goalscorer in all competitions, with the midfielder showcasing her creativity in front of goal this season. West Brom did the double over Halifax last season, scoring four in the first meeting and edging a 3-2 win in the reverse fixture.

Make the trip to support the team on the road as they look to pick up important points.
