Halifax FC Women will play Burnley on Wednesday night, in their latest fixture in the Northern Premier division, a quick turnaround having played on Sunday. The fixture will be their fifth game of the league campaign and are looking to get back to winning ways.

Kick off at the County Ground, Lancashire, will be at 7:45pm as Halifax travel to their first away game of the league campaign.

Halifax are heading into the game on the back of a 1-3 defeat to Stoke City last weekend. Stoke travelled to Liversedge and showed their strength, largely controlling the game and defending well to hold Halifax. Halifax still showed signs of danger particularly through Monique Watson, who created a fantastic goal with Lucy Sowerby, a one-two with an excellent finish. However, it was stoke who sealed the three points with a goal in the last minute. Halifax will be looking to bounce back on Wednesday and will be hoping to give Burnley a huge challenge.

Rob Mitchell’s side will be looking to get back to winning ways on Wednesday.

Speaking ahead of the game, Mitchell said:

“We’ve lost games before so it’s about a reaction now”.

“We’ve just got to concentrate on ourselves and not worry too much about what Burnley are doing”.

Burnley welcome Halifax to Lancashire having beaten Stourbridge 4-1 in their last fixture, Burnley are in fantastic form, with an unbeaten run in the league with five wins and one draw. Halifax will be facing a very tough opponent, so we should see a very exciting matchup. Burnley will also have the home advantage, where they have been at their best this season.
