The eagles progressed into the FA West Riding cup final after a scintillating performance at Altofts on Sunday afternoon, which saw Drew Greene score a brace on her first start for the club since November. The high flying Eagles continued their fantastic winning form.
It was Halifax who struck first, with a very early goal by Drew Greene, on her Halifax return, much to the elation of the team and coach Rob Mitchell in the dugout. 0-1 after only 2 minutes played!
Two more rapid fire goals came, one from Drew Greene again, who scored only 7 minutes after her first goal. Courtney Willis followed up with a goal of her own in the 12th minute to make it 0-3 to Halifax.
Altofts had the chance to find a goal of their own, only to be stopped in their tracks by Sugden-Brooke to deny a huge chance for Altofts, she played incredibly throughout her first start for the team.
Skipper, Shauna Legge added another goal. A well delivered corner saw Legge rise above everyone to head home. 0-4 after 38 minutes.
Altofts had a few chances of their own this half, with a few instances where they found themselves one on one with Flaherty in goal but each chance wasn’t to be for Altofts.
Halifax made it 0-5 after a goalmouth scramble saw the ball stumble into the Altofts goal, there was no clear goalscorer so the goal was marked down as an own-goal.

The second half began with a continuation of the impressive performance the team had in the first half.
Halifax made it six through Katie Ramsden, a brilliant pass from Maddie Oliver in the build up allowed Ramsden to finish beautifully in the bottom right corner. 0-6 after 47 minutes.
Ellie White added to her impressive goal scoring form. A ball played through by Whitham found White, who saw an opportunity to lob the out of positioned keeper and took it, making it 0-7 on the 65 minute mark.
Halifax talent Izzy Armson earned her way onto the score sheet with a beautiful finish on the half volley after being set up by Karri Chan with some very intelligent football. 0-8 after 82 minutes.
